Welcome to Troop L, the Florida Highway Patrol’s 3rd largest Troop, which is commanded by Major Aurelio L. Ramil. Troop L Headquarters is located on Florida’s Turnpike at the 94 Mile Post Service Plaza in Lake Worth, located in Palm Beach County. Strategically located, we are conjoined with the Lake Worth Regional Communications Center, a state-of-the-art communications facility that dispatches for Troop L, Troop K and other state agencies, such as Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Department of Environmental Protection, Motor Carrier Compliance, State Fire Marshall, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco and the Department of Agriculture. Our facility is also home for dispatchers from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission. The LWRCC coordinates its efforts in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation's Intelligent Transportation System that oversees the Florida’s Turnpike, which is also housed in our facility.
Troop L is comprised of 3 Districts: Davie, Fort Pierce and Lake Worth. Captain Chris Dellapietra commands the Davie District and Captain John P. Cataldo is the Fort Pierce and Lake Worth Districts Commander. Troop L encompasses a total of 6 Gold Coast and Treasure Coast counties. The Davie District covers Broward County, the Lake Worth District consists of Palm Beach County and Indian River County, Martin County, Okeechobee County and Saint Lucie County make up the Fort Pierce District. Approximately 165 sworn and non-sworn members of the Florida Highway Patrol – and their families – call Troop L “home.”
The Florida Highway Patrol is committed to creating “A Safer Florida,” and Troop L is leading the way by “Providing Highway Safety and Security through Excellence in Service, Education and Enforcement.” Our men and women patrol nearly 225 miles of interstate and thousands of miles of state- and county-maintained roadways daily, ensuring that residents and visitors to the Treasure and Gold Coasts – and beyond – are protected and kept safe 24-hours a day. Troop L has a reputation of “Courtesy, Service and Protection,” and we are committed to continuing this long-standing tradition.
