Lt. Joe Lopez, FHP Bureau of Investigations, along with twenty-eight other law enforcement front-line supervisors, middle managers, and deputy chiefs from across the state of Florida--representing city, county, and state agencies--graduated from the 59th Session of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officers Development Course. The commencement ceremony took place on Feb. 12.
The Command Officers Development Course is conducted twice a year in Florida, bringing together a group of leaders selected by Chiefs, Sheriffs, Colonels, and Executive Officers to provide an instructional curriculum on leadership skills and techniques used in modern policing. The course consisted of 10 weeks, broken into five 80-hour classes that included research assignments, group projects, individual staff studies, and additional long hours of study outside the classroom.
Congratulations to Lt. Lopez on a job well done!
