Tristy Corey, Emily Oestriech, and Vicki Paul were recently recognized with Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Awards for their efforts as child seat technicians in Troop A. All three are senior clerks with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tristy is in the Penscaola district office, Emily is in the Crestview office, and Vicki is at Troop Headquarters located in Panama City. They are all certified technicians, and they volunteered to become car seat technicians because they recognized the need for technicians in the districts where they work. They assumed these extra duties knowing that there would be no monetary compensation, but only the satisfaction of helping children in need. Because they work in the district offices they handle a large amount of car seat checks and installations in the districts. They interact with the children and their families with dignity and respect regardless of their circumstances. They also inspire confidence and trust with the parents and leave them with a positive image of the patrol as well as a safe and securely restrained child.

ABCD Award

Due to the dedication of persons such as Tristy, Emily, and Vicki the patrol was recently recognized nationally for its child safety seat program. They all go above and beyond the call of their daily duties to ensure that Florida's children are properly restrained and safe on the roadways. They are commended for their efforts and their contributions to the Patrol’s mission of a safer Florida. We could not make a difference without their efforts Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.
