On Apr. 13, the Florida Highway Patrol again joined the City of Sunrise Police Department for their annual Community Block Party. The event is designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement, the community and local businesses, bringing them together for family fun, food, and activities.
The event featured live music with lots of food and games for kids. Broward CrimeStoppers fingerprinted kids and several local police department’s displayed their tactical equipment including weapons and mobile command posts. The City of Sunrise Police Department conducted a K-9 demonstration.

The patrol’s seat belt convincer was used to stress the importance of wearing seat belts during the last weekend of the recent Click it or Ticket campaign.
This was the third year that the Florida Highway Patrol participated in this community event. A special thank you goes out to the Florida Highway Patrol’s Auxiliary unit from the Davie District for the purchase of our new tent (pictured above).
