Trooper Jayson Paul

On Jan. 12, Trooper Jayson Paul stopped a vehicle for failure to dim its headlights when approaching another vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle, Paul determined that the driver did not have a valid driver license, and the vehicle was not properly registered or insured. Upon towing the vehicle and conducting an inventory of the vehicle, the trooper discovered several types of controlled substances in the form of pills, drug paraphernalia and a large clear bag of crushed pseudoephedrine pills, which is used to make methamphetamine. Both subjects were subsequently arrested for traffic and narcotics violations. Paul contacted the local sheriff’s office narcotics unit, which initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of numerous subjects for manufacturing methamphetamines. By looking beyond the traffic stop, Paul, in conjunction with the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office, helped make the community safer.
