121, Second to None!

The Florida Highway Patrol will boost its law enforcement capacity by 59 new troopers during a Feb. 9 graduation ceremony at the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum.

FHP’s 121st Basic Recruit Class reported to the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy to begin training last July 31. A class of eight already-certified law enforcement officers from other agencies joined the recruit class Dec. 14 to earn FHP badges and diplomas.

After graduation, the new troopers will report to their assignments for 10 more weeks of field training before they take on solo patrol duties.

Meanwhile, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement recruits, who began specialized training at the academy Oct. 23, also will assume their new duties after the ceremony.

The Basic Recruit Class started with 47 recruits, but the grueling academic and physical demands of the academy thinned out the class to 40, all of whom passed the State Law Enforcement Officer Certification Exam.

The graduation ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.

Congratulations to our newest members of the Florida Highway Patrol!
