Sgt. Mark Wysocky and Sgt. Tom Pikul contributed to a Nov. 14 Coast Guard safety training day in Miami Beach. The training included the Coast Guard command staff, the Florida Highway Patrol and the Miami Fire-Rescue Department.

Fire and vehicle safety were the main topics in the event. It included information about driver distractions, impaired driving, motorcycles and seat belt use. Pikul discussed the dangers of drinking and driving and the benefits of using a designated driver. He also used special goggles to demonstrate the effects of being impaired.
