Seized drugsOn Sept. 21, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., Troop L’s drug interdiction team, Trooper Corey Lee and K-9 Jax, stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on State Road 25 (US 27) in Palm Beach County for improper window tint. During the stop, both the driver and passenger appeared extremely nervous. Lee’s investigation determined the suspects were traveling from Polk County to Miami-Dade County. The trooper’s continued probing led to his discovery that the vehicle was transporting a large amount of cocaine in the vehicle. While speaking with the passenger outside the vehicle, the driver suddenly attempted to jump back into the vehicle and flee the scene but was unsuccessful. Lee arrested both occupants. The total weight of the cocaine seized totaled 518 grams.
