Section 320.8285, Florida Statutes provides that: “Each county or municipality in this state shall be responsible for the
onsite inspection of each mobile home installation located with the jurisdiction of such entity.” This means that a local
government building department must issue a permit for the installation of each mobile/manufactured home set-up in Florida
and must inspect the installation to ensure that it complies with the requirements of
Rule Chapter 15C-1, Florida Administrative Code.
