MACCLENNY -- This is the final week for the Macclenny driver license office operated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). That office, at 651 South 6th Street, will be closing permanently at 6 p.m. Friday.

Beginning on Tuesday, April 29, driver license services will be offered by the Baker County Tax Collector’s Office at 32 North 5th Street, Macclenny. The regular office hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“This transition is part of an ongoing collaboration between our department’s Division of Driver Licenses and local tax collectors throughout the state,” said Fred O. Dickinson, Executive Director of DHSMV.

The new Macclenny office will offer a full array of services, including the written and skills testing required for an original issuance of a license.

Customers who are eligible to renew without visiting a driver license office are encouraged to do so. Information on how to do so is included with renewal notices.
