Stuart’s Capital for a Day Offers Services to Motorists

Florida’s Capital for a Day today is Stuart, and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is there to offer helpful information and a full array of services.

  • The FLOWmobile (Florida Licensing on Wheels) offers residents a chance to renew their driver license, obtain an official ID card, get help to resolve problems with their driving record, have their vision screened, or take the written exam for a driver license. FLOWmobile examiners can conduct all driver license business except for the road tests. The FLOWmobile a converted bus is open from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. next to Gazebo Park, 100 E. Ocean Drive, Stuart.

  • In the park, visitors will find displays featuring information about DHSMV. A video depicts the agency’s many activities, from vehicle registration and titles to the Florida Highway Patrol’s traffic enforcement and drug interdiction.

  • DHSMV also offers visitors a chance to examine samples of some of Florida’s 52 specialty license plates; learn how to order personalized plates or obtain parking permits for persons with disabilities; get tips on deterring vehicle theft; learn how to install a child-restraint seat; or pick up information on joining the FHP.

Florida’s Governor and Cabinet meet from 9 a.m. until noon today in the Martin County Commission Chambers, 2401 S.E. Monterey Road. The "State Agency Fair" begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. in the nearby Gazebo Park.
