International Registration Plan

Temporary Trip Permits

Out of state carriers who are operating an apportionable vehicle in Florida with a non-IRP registration issued by another jurisdiction must purchase a Florida trip permit in order to operate in Florida. The out of state carrier must obtain the Florida trip permit prior to entering the state of Florida and it must remain with the vehicle while in the state.

Note: The same applies to IFTA qualified vehicles. IRP registrants who do not maintain an IFTA account must obtain a Florida temporary fuel use permit each time their vehicles operate in Florida. Go to the IFTA Temporary Fuel Use Permits link for more information.
