Emergency Declarations
During times of declared emergencies, there may be relief provided from certain state laws and federal regulations. Emergency declarations authorize activities that can help states and localities carry out essential services and activities. The transportation industry plays a significant role during emergency management performing response and recovery activities. Response activities are comprised of the immediate actions to save lives, protect property and the environment, and meet basic human needs. Recovery activities are intended to restore essential services and repair damages caused by the event.
