Florida Financial Responsibility and Insurance Program

Sanction Notices

Customers may receive a sanction notice (Notice of Order of Suspension and Final Order) when policy information in the department’s insurance database is incomplete, missing, or denied. Here are the most common notices:

Insurance cancellation (FR7)
Insurance denial (FR8)
Insurance verification unanswered

The FR7 letter generates when we receive a policy cancellation, or delete vehicle, and no other insurance is on file. The FR8 letter generates when policy information provided by the customer during vehicle registration is denied by the insurance company. The Insurance Failed to Verify 30 day letter will generate when the customer provides policy information to clear a sanction, but we do not receive a confirmation or denial from the insurance carrier to our verification request.

To eliminate a notice being mailed to our mutual customer, please send initiations within 10 days as required by Florida Statute 324.0221(1)(a).
