XML Motorist Modernization Update

Florida’s Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles XML Conversion project is now live. Most Florida insurance companies are successfully submitting files in the new XML format. We thank you all for the effort and hard work you contributed to the XML Conversion project.

Verification Requests

  • Requests are usually sent when insurance coverage is not located on our database and a customer:
    • registers or renews a registration, or
    • provides insurance information to clear a FR sanction, or
    • provides insurance information at the time of a vehicle crash.After confirming a policy that is not on our insurance database, please remember to submit the appropriate transaction(s).
  • When an insurance company does not answer Pre 8 (800000000) verification requests, the request will recycle every 30 days. While no 30-day FR suspension letters generate, you must respond to all verification requests. Prompt responses to these requests will ultimately help improve statewide insurance compliance. It will also reduce the request volume sent to insurance companies.
  • Verification requests for FR sanctions 1-6 should include level of coverage. FR sanctions 7-9 do not. Those cases only require PIP/PDL.
  • Verification requests for policies associated with a business does not include policy holder information. Please email FLHSMVInsuranceLiaison@flhsmv.gov if you need policyholder information for a business.
  • Insurance companies can receive verification files on a holiday, but only if the holiday falls on a weekday.

 

Error-related issues

  • Transactions 34 and 35 can now be sent in the appropriate order. You should not receive errors for this issue. Otherwise, please email FLHSMVInsuranceLiaison@flhsmv.gov.
  • A recent system change now allows future dates for SR26 and FR46 certificates. You should no longer receive error message 00U “effective date cannot be in the future,” for certificates.
  • 065 error, “no matching SR/FR certificate could be found when attempting to process the cancellation,” is returned when the associated FR case is no longer on record. These cases were purged because the time requirement for the applicable certificate expired. No action is required.

 

December Update:

Here is a common error message that companies have received in their transaction reports since Go-Live:

A52 Unknown system error, resubmit transaction              N
