Frequently Asked Questions regarding the availability of Miami-Dade and Broward County DMV appointments
FLHSMV acknowledges the difficulties many have experienced at our South Florida locations. To address this, FLHSMV is in the process of hiring additional driver license examiners and increasing Florida Licensing on Wheel (F.L.O.W.) events in Broward and Miami-Dade County.
The Department is committed to ensuring Floridians can access credentialing services. Various options are available to address this, including online opportunities through MyDMV Portal, checking the F.L.O.W. schedule for assistance in your area or private third-party providers that can assist with testing drivers for an additional fee. They can be found here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/driver-license-exams/.

What should I do if I need a credential renewed in Miami-Dade or Broward Counties?
Plan ahead, do not wait until the date a credential expires to make an appointment to renew. Renewals and replacements, if not done online, can take 2-3 weeks for appointment availability. To make an appointment, go to flhsmv.gov and click on the Locations tab.

What should I do if I need to make an appointment for an original license or credential?
